The Oedipal Conflict in Modern Psychoanalysis:  Beyond infantile sexuality and into the unknown”  presented by Geoffrey Anderson, Ph.D.

Rockville Hilton Hotel, 1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD 20852

Please join IPI in a weekend of discovery on the process of listening, experiencing, and connecting in the analytic encounter. Presentations by IPI faculty combined with our emphasis on experiential learning through the small group process will expand the capacity for in-depth clinical work for psychoanalysts and psychotherapists alike.

Please note: Dr. Michael Parsons, originally scheduled to present at this conference, has had to withdraw due to unavoidable circumstances.  The Saturday morning lecture, open to separate registration, will be presented by Geoffrey Anderson, Ph.D., IPI Director.

Conference includes lectures, case presentations, and large and small group discussions.  Topics include analytic listening and the internal position of the analytic listener; differences between a mature oedipal position and a neurotic oedipal complex; and the application of enhanced analytic listening to clinical work.  Participants will practice analytic listening in small and large group settings.  Saturday morning lecture and small group discussion open for registration to mental health professionals not attending the full conference.
